Siligo class transport ship, a Venerian design, built to transport food and other tradable goods from Venus to Luna. This design quickly became popular among Venerians, so it was mass produced in vast numbers, mostly for various entrepreneurs.

While at first used almost exclusively on Venus-Luna trade routes, they did spread out into other corners of Sol. Their somewhat limited Delta-V reduced their usefulness on interplanetary routes, however they perform exceedingly well on intermediate routes, such as those among Jovian or even Saturnian moons.

When it was originally conceived, the idea was to use them only while Venus made its closest approach to Earth, and at that distance a one-way trip would last only about 20 days. That in mind, the design is pretty deficient, with, among other discomforts, no way to create a sensation of gravity for the crew, it would be unpleasant to use them on longer routes, especially for the Venerians. However, markets created a huge demand for food shipments from Venus, and as the number of privately owned Siligo class ships increased, trends started to shift. At first, the transit seasons lengthened, and as long as it was profitable, traders where willing to endure longer trips to deliver their cargo, at the same time, they added more cargo while the planets where on closest approach, and carried reduced cargo hauls when the distance was less favorable. Eventually, as the design was updated, and with internal optimizations more living space was created, which created a second shift in trends. With close to 110 cubic meters of living space, they became much more comfortable to be in, to the point that it became common for these ships to be homes for their owners. With internal personal centrifuges, and other devices for maintaining crew members health, trips all year round became standard practice. For certain individuals it's very popular to fly these ships in convoys, only to wait till the main engine burn is over, and once the ships cool down, to maneuver them into docking chains, and spend the rest of their trip in a floating community of docked ships.

Nowadays it's quite apparent that Siligo class was the main vessel that broke Venerian isolationism, and at the same time brought wealth to many Venerian citizens, while creating good relationships nations within Sol.
